…how goes it?

danny

I'm Danny — simply known to most as Helter; a 25 year old freelance tech, craft beer lover, tattoo enthusiast, cook, code writer, IT geek, web designer, CR-48 test pilot, political activist, & philosopher …among many other interests, trades, and ideals.

I currently reside in Arizona, I originally moved from California in 2006.

If you're wondering why the hell someone would move from a place like California to Arizona, well… I couldn't tell you. I wonder why myself most days. Though the friendships I've made in the years I have lived in Arizona are what keep me here. Aside from that, there's thousands of miles of nature that I have yet to explore; so for now, it's home.

I love modern, minimalist, & simplistic designs. It's applied to a lot of my design work. Less is more, perhaps? I also have a love for monochrome photography, especially vintage originals. I take a lot of my own photos in monochrome. When it comes down to development, it's done using Open Source Software (when available) on either the Linux, or Windows platform with the exception of occasional code modifications done from my CR-48 (ChromeOS) from time to time.

what's, helter?

Good question! …but, the handle or domain?

Helter (handle) — originated sometime in high school circa 2000… where it was originally Helter Skelter but was later shortened to simply Helter. It has since then remained as the handle I've used online. It origin is a Beatles song off of The White Album.

Helter.net (domain) — was born in late April of 2004 and has been the source of numerous projects. The content was, and still is ever changing. It's a playground, per se for new ideas, thoughts, and self expression written in lines of code and output into a visual design.

HTML5 + CSS3 =

HTML5 Logo

HTML5 is a language for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web. It is the fifth revision of the HTML standard (created in 1990 and standardized as HTML4 as of 1997) and as of January 2012 is still under development.

CSS3 Logo

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used to describe the presentation semantics (the look and formatting) of a document written in a markup language. Its most common application is to style web pages written in HTML and XHTML, but the language can also be applied to any kind of XML document, including plain XML, SVG and XUL.

…Umm, Okay?

Basically, Helter.net is one of the early adopters of the upcoming HTML5 markup along with the nifty new additions to CSS3 to create some visual awesome sauce! Really, who doesn't love a new toy?
